Laphroaig Quarter Cask
A Whiskey Review by The Whiskey Noob
Soooo…I still can’t go all IN on the peaty stuff yet…
I feel like I have been avoiding peated whiskies lately like the muthafuckin plague since it left a bad TASTE in my mouth the last time I had one…(heyooo!)
But I decided to switch it up and go away from the sweeter whiskies and gave this quarter cask a SHOT. (damn…I’m on FIRE! HA!) (ok, ok I’ll stop)
The price point wasn’t bad for a dram because I knew for damn sure I wasn’t going to buy a whole bottle!
Plus, I think I’ve already gone through everything on the menu at this point and this was the only thing left for me to try…
Unfortunately, after the first sip, I got a little PTSDish all over again and remembered exactly WHY I’ve steered away from peated whiskies all this time.
I think it was still too much for me at this point because the peat overwhelmed everything from the nose to the finish and left a bitter taste in my mouth…
Kinda like a back handed compliment…
“those pants fit you well considering you gained so much weight!”
Thanks a lot mom!
