Ohishi Brandy Cask Finish
A Whiskey Review by The Whiskey Noob
I first tried this at Whiskies of the World in San Jose and I remember in the midst of trying all these different and great whiskies during the event I remember finally getting to a table offering Japanese whisky.
I was pretty excited because I haven’t tried too many Japanese whiskies yet and of the ones I did try I actually liked.
This distillery was new to me and I’ve never even heard of it, so I thought that MAYBE I might have found a hidden gem. Something that maybe not everyone was keen on and I would be able to turn it into a daily sipper.
The one thing I DID remember was that this whiskey did NOT stand out to me. It was very blah and very forgettable…
I thought that maybe because I was a little tipsy at the event I just remembered it wrong.
So I found a bottle and I decided to give it another shot recently and WOW!
I was right the first time…
Guess I was still sober enough to remember that this did not stand out at all.
Still fucking forgettable….so that is what I will do, forget all about this one…on to the next one!!!
Gotta do my due diligence and keep finding a good Japanese whisky. Don’t worry ma noobs because you know you will be the FIRST ones to know!
I got y’all backs!
